The Conference "External costs of energy technologies", co-organised by the European Economic and Social Committee and the 6th Framework Programme-funded research project "NEEDS: New Energy Externalities Development for Sustainability" will take place in Brussels on 16-17 February 2009 at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The first workshop of the EC funded project CASES (Cost Assessment for Sustainable Energy Markets) will focus on internal (private) and external costs of electricity generation and supply in and outside the European Union.
